Kristin’s first yoga experience was around the age of 5 when her mother was doing a sun salutation and Kristin decided to watch her and copy what her mom was doing. In 1995 she first started to take yoga classes, signing up for a prenatal course. She immediately found that this was something for her. In 2013 she was in a car accident and the doctors told her that yoga was not a good option, it might even be harmful. She learned to practice yoga off the mat through meditation and gentle stretches but always missed the pleasure of her old practices on the mat.
Moving to San Diego in 2015 her health slowly started to get better and in the fall of 2016 she joined a yoga class down by the beach. The teacher was a fellow Icelander, Viktoria Gisladottir and her yoga verbiage was special, Kristin had never heard these words before. Kristin realized she had been practicing yoga for 21 years but this was the first time she felt like a “yogi”. One day she asked her where she had learned to teach yoga – a week later Kristin had already signed up for yoga teacher training at the same studio.
Yoga has helped me define and accomplish my dreams, and I am passionate about helping others manifest their own dreams, as well—both through the classes I teach and the relationships I form off the mat.
